Swing

Our friends Candy and Chris lent us their baby swing. Joshua seems to really like it (as you can see he rocked to sleep). Perhaps now he will stand to be put down for a few minutes.

THANK YOU!

If I were a movie

According to similarminds.com, if I were a movie I would be Apocalypse Now. I have no idea what this is supposed to say about me, but there you go.

Google Talk

Google released their much anticipated instant message client called Google Talk. You need a Gmail account to use it, so if anyone needs one, I can hook you up. Just email me or leave a comment here.

Nevermind, it looks like gmail is now available to everyone.

Mom

My Mom came to visit us this weekend. For the most part we just hung around the house. We did take her out to diner yesterday for her birthday.

She brought a Star Wars Risk game for me. Which she proceeded to beat me heartily time and again at.

Bellow is Joshua in a couple of new outfits my mom brought for him (notice the smile - it's his new trick).

Hey didn't video kill the rodeo star?

Here I am cuddling Joshua to sleep, and doh! I feel asleep myself.

Typoglycemia

Someone sent me this the other day, I thought it was kinda cool.

Don't delete this because it looks weird.
Believe it or not, you can read it.

Andrew Major

Today we went out to Greensboro to see our friends Lisa and Barry. Lisa and Barry moved to Raleigh about the same time Kalanai and I did (they moved down from Boston). Kalani and Lisa worked together at their first real job here. We have been good friends ever since. A few years ago Barry and Lisa moved to Greensboro about an hour and a half a way from Raleigh. We do not get out to see them enough, but we always enjoy seeing them when we do.

This was our first trip out to see them since their newest son Andrew was born in late April. Drew was born with Cystic Fibrosis and had to have two surgeries before going home from the hospital. He's recovered well. Please check out their web site for a non profit agency they are starting in his name (Drew's Team - http://www.drewsteam.org/).

Above is a picture of Lisa, Barry and Drew on the left, their older son Colby in the middle and other friends Jen, Jason and and their new son Ethan. Here are some other pictures of our trip.

Kaisei or Kaito Takeda

Our friends in Japan, Reiko and Shigefumi Kaito Takeda just had a baby boy. Their baby was born at 7:03am (JST) on 8/10 - the boy weighed 2,974g (6.6lb).

They have yet to decide a name for their son. They are trying to choose from Kaisei (sea + blue) or Kaito (sea + sound). Either way they will call him Kai for short.

Congratulations to both of you. We miss you guys.

Josh Goes To the Office

Yesterday Joshua and Kalani came to visit my office at Lunch. We went to Doce. A great salad and sandwich shop in RTP. Above is Dan, Koniuma-san, Justin, Tom, Ying, Joshua and Kalani.

On the right is Joshua with his visitor pass. We would have put him right to work, if he had ever woken up.

Auntie Dana

Kalani's auntie Dana came to visit us yesterday. Dana stopped through Raleigh on her way back to Hawaii. She had just come from England where she gave a speech during a conference at Oxford.

We had a great day. I took the day off so that we could we could all hang out together. Mostly there was good Joshua/Great Auntie time.

We went to Rio Churrascaria for lunch. It is a Brazilian steak house. The waiters come around with Swords full of meat and serve it right on to your plate. They had also had a great salad bar.

In the afternoon we went for a nice walk around the neighborhood. Bogey was very happy about this. For dinner I made Penne Alla Vodka. And Dana was on her way back out west.

Here are some other pictures from yesterday. Josh looking cute in his Rugby shirt, Kalani and I on the couch and Joshua wearing his "Heartbreaker" hat that his auntie Shannon sent from Hawaii.

Aloha Auntie Dana we enjoyed the visit. We hope to see the whole Davidson clan next year for Josh's first baby Luau.

Sunday Diner

Last night we had Sunday dinner over at Eric's house. I made some Baked Ziti. Bellow is a picture of Leanne and Josh and yet another picture of Eric looking crazy, must be his natural state :).

I also just found out this morning that our friends Chris and Dianne, who live right down the street from us now, are putting their house up for sale. We knew it was coming they had already told us. We will miss you in the neighborhood and best of luck with the new house.
